The Studio One Manual is the best resource for understanding the inner workings of our favorite DAW. Since Studio One V1, the manual has been less than 'in-depth.' In Studio One 3, however, the manual has become much more detailed. The User's Manual is also now internal to Studio One and can only be accessed from within the application.

It's also context sensitive. If you happen to be on the Project page and hit F1, you'll get the part of the manual pertaining to the Project. If you're on the Song page, you'll get information on the Song page. It also brings up a side menu listing all the sub-sections within the main section you're interested in and they link to each section and sub-section.

Oct 26, 2014  'Logic Pro X - How it Works' was not only the first manual available for Apple's new music production app 'Logic Pro X', it is the most comprehensive one. On 396 letter size, full-color pages, the author explains the app in great detail with additional background information that is often required to fully understand specific features.

Whilst this dynamic edition of the User's Manual is powerful, some users prefer having an 'old school' manual in pdf form that they can download to a tablet or phone...or even to print on paper. I admit I have several manuals in 3-ring binders on my shelves, so I understand.

Studio One Expert have been working hard behind the scenes to offer you this little gift, your very own 407 page pdf copy of The 'Unofficial' Studio One 3 User Manual. It is free, no strings attached, no email sign-up, no page to 'Like', simply our gift to the community.

It is hoped that at some point PreSonus will offer us the option of having the dynamic manual and/or the hard copy manual.

Until then, we hope you enjoy this little gift from the team.

On this page you'll find various support materials to be used in conjunction with the Logic Manual. The publisher's web page for the book can be found here.

An Italian translation has been published by Mimesis.

The Exercises Booklet can be downloaded from here. A version containing solutions is available upon request for those teaching from the Manual. Unfortunately I cannot release these solution for revision or self-study. If you require more exercises for revision or exercises with solutions, please use More Exercises by Peter Fritz, which contains exercises and solutions .Lecture slides

This year's logic lectures are being given by James Studd. The lecture slides will be posted below each week

There are two versions for each lecture: a handout (with some items left for students to complete during the lecture) and the lecture slides themselves. Note that the slides only cover selected definitions and techniques from the Logic Manual and are not comprehensive. They should be read in conjunction with the main text. slides week 1printer-friendly versionslides week 2 slides week 3printer-friendly versionslides week 4printer-friendly versionslides week 5printer friendly versionslides week 6printer friendly versionslides week 7printer friendly versionslides week 8printer friendly versionSample papers and additional resources

All past examination papers have been collected at OXAM (restricted access). Below are papers or questions with solutions.

For the revised examination rules from 2013, Gail Leckie has produced two “elementary and straightforward” questions together with answers.

The Natural Deduction Pack by Alastair Carr contains many worked examples of Natural Deduction proofs with detailed explanations of proof strategies. After working through this document there will hardly be any question on Natural Deduction in a Prelims paper that you can't answer.

AJ Gilbert has compiled a list with the main definitions.

The following papers still follow the old conventions (pre 2013). In particular, the formalizations in propositional logic may be harder than in recent papers. I hope they are still useful. Logic Pro X User Manual

I have prepared some worked examples in pdf files. To open the pdf file for an example click on the claims below. I recommend viewing the files in single page (non-continuous) mode (often called 'fit to width', symbol: four corners). To go to the next page use the page down or space key (rather than scrolling forward in continuous mode).
