Jul 01, 2013 The User Guide points out this nice little port and threaded holes on the bottom V5-122P for attaching an 'optional' external battery. This can also be seen mentioned on tech review sites or product listings at different retailers. It fails to mention a part number or anything. It can't be found on Acer. hi..
If you wish to update to windows 8.1, you may update the BIOS to latest verssion to enchance the perfromnavce of your computer. Please keep the AC adapter plugged in during BIOS update. If your computer is shipped with windows 8 you have the option to upgrade to windows 8.1 for free from windows store.
Please don't forgot to create the recovery disc before replacing the hard disk.

Ok. Thank you for answering. I have one more question. I know that to update to version 2.07 and up I need 2.06 installed, but after that can I just install the latest version or do I have to install them in sequential order? For example after I install 2.07 do I have to do 2.08 then 2.09 etc. or can I just update to 2.12?

Hi...
You can update to BIOS 2.07 or higher after you update to BIOS 2.06. A security feature change was made on BIOS 2.06 that is required before any newer BIOS update can be performed.
If BIOS 2.06 is not installed you will receive the message 'Please update to BIOS v2.06 first for critical secure mechanism'.
After installing V20.6, you can directly install V2.12. You do not have to install them in sequential order.

I was looking at the back of the laptop for a Mamory/RAM compartment to uncrew and put the Upgraded RAM on it. I don't see any Memory compartment. How to add the Upgraded memory ? How to Open the back ? Can I add 8GB memory card on the Laptop? Should I have to replace the 2GB one with 8GB. Will the computer recognize ?
I am considering the following 8GB RAM to Upgrade with. Will the computer recognize full 8GB?

I added a 8GB Crucial RAM over 2GB OnBoard.. all 10GB is recognized and used by Win 8.1. Acer Tech support team needs a Technical Training on the Acer products to better asist the customers.

@n68 Is your laptop still working fine after the 8 gb upgrade. I wanted to upgrade mine but I'm not sure of what to get since it says in the manufacturers documentation that the max memory is only 6 gb however; I did a crucial scan and it does say that I can add 8 GB. I saw thsi post and it says that you've actually added 8 gb. Just want to check if everything is working just fine after that. I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.

Looks like it not support my new memory. Need help, THANKS
